Priddy Book: A Collection of Fairy Tales… A GiveAway

I feel the Christmas rush looming out there in the world, but over here we are slowing down for summer and the afternoons are getting longer and warm enough to lounge around reading great books… And so we have another fabulous Priddy Book to GiveAway…

blog.priddybooks.com-1

A large board book packed with Fairy Tales:

My kids love Fairy Tales and can listen to them again and again, they like the familiarity, the like the “gasp” in the story and they like knowing the ending!!! Who wouldn’t want to know the ending to Hansel and Gretal or Little Red Riding Hood? So when this book arrived it didn’t actually land in our house… the package arrived and it flew straight into welcoming arms!!! Very quickly there was a chief storyteller…

But many others were able to catch a few sneak peaks… Hood #8 loved the textured pages… he just couldn’t get enough of them!!!

Others had to wait until after bedtime…

And another feature of this book that my kids just didn’t notice at first, was that it comes with a read-along CD… retelling all the stories. They were hooked… listening and reading and listening and reading and repeat!!! As a mom I can say that the CD was quite pleasant and I was happy to have it playing in the background. So often story CDs you listen to once and hope they vanish into a burning fire!!! Well not this one, no hidden hideous background music… Just the story read clearly with a few edifying sounds in the background… a mooing cow and twittering birds!!!

Here’s a list of the tales:

  1. The Gingerbread Man
  2. The Three Little Pigs
  3. The Princess and the Pea
  4. Little Red Riding Hood
  5. Rapunzel
  6. The Ugly Duckling
  7. Goldilocks and the Three Bears
  8. Hansel and Gretal
  9. Jack and the Beanstalk

The GiveAway works in the usual way, comment and tell us your favorite fairy tale, before the end of this coming Sunday, 4 December 2011, and we will draw and publish the winner next week! – I won’t respond to your comments as I do on our other posts because I don’t want to be included in our own giveaway.

Our GiveAways are open to everyone: If you have won a GiveAway before never fear – enter away. If you live on the far side of the world – enter away. Postage takes forever from here but eventually it should get to you! Good luck and get commenting!!!

I received these books from Priddy Books in exchange for a review, they did not ask, or pay me to say such lovely things about their products – I said them because their books, and particularly this one is fantastic!!!

  1. Ooooo, my boys would absolutely LOVE this book! Their favourite is The 3 Little Pigs, but they dont know all the fairy tales on your list, so they might discover a new favourite!

  2. Oo!! Love, love, love that these stories are still around!! I cannot wait to read all my favourite fairy tales to my little one, one day. We don’t have a little one yet, so my little nieces will share in the joy for now until our twinkle baba is here.

My all time favourite must be Goldilocks…

  3. The Three Bears because it goes along with Good Night Moon. We would love to win these books. Thank you!

  4. My kids would love this book and I would love it too- especially since the CD could “read” the book over and over again! My kids love the 3 little pigs!

  5. For some reason I gotta say The Three Little Pigs. I think it might be because of all of the awesome ‘twisted’ versions of the story.

  6. I haven’t read fairy tales in ages, have to admit we don’t even have a lot around the house now that we have kids, so this would be awesome! Of those, I’d pick The Ugly Duckling; it’s a great message for kids.

  7. I’d love to listen to this with some of the very special children I have the luck to work with

  8. Two of my crew vote for the Ugly Duckling…
Another two vote for the Gingerbread Man…
Child #5 refuses to break the tie; he takes his nap instead…

  9. Oh my word – I just love this book! I know I just won the last Priddy Book giveaway on your blog, but I have to enter again, because this one would be perfect for my little Mason – Board books are the best!

Our favourite fairytale would have to be The Ugly Duckling 🙂

  10. Fantastic books I love seeing the pictures of your kids enjoying them you can see the wheels turning in their heads :)…..So sweet on the couch with a book and siblings.

  11. Aaahh pick us pick us pick us 😉 those books are lovely. Have given the Mother Goose one away as gift in past!!
    Anyway we love Ugly Duckling!!!

  12. Goldilocks and the Three Bears is the favorite around here these days! Thanks for the opportunity to enter!

  13. We’d love to win this, perhaps my boy could listen to it while i nurse his brother! His favourite is the 3 little pigs- the ‘unscary’ version. I haven’t ever considered which is my favourite, it might be cinderella, but would have to reaquaint myself with them all before committing to one.

  14. We passed on most of our books for younger children a while ago as our children grew out of them. Now wishing we hadn’t as a late entrant to the family will be requiring such lovely books as this fairytale one when he/she arrives! I’m sure the older kids would love reading it to their new brother/sister.

  15. The Princess and the Pea was one of my favourite stories as a child. Funnily, we’ve not seen much of it in the other compilations we’ve come across. This book is just lovely! It’s a book my boys will love to have read aloud to them, and with two big sisters who still love fairy tales, they’ll have some obliging readers too!

  16. My daughter would LOVE this book….she loves to be read to and my favorite is the Princess and the Pea

  17. The Ugly Duckling is a favorite in our home. We have a cassette tape version (that is many moons old!) with the cutest song about the duckling. Audio books are just the greatest!

  18. The Gingerbread Man is a firm family favourite! “Run, run as fast as you can!”

My kiddliwinks would love this series!

  19. We just bought a similar book of Christmas songs. I agree that the CD is well done, which is good as it’s been playing almost nonstop this weekend.

Our favorite fairy tale must be the three little pigs, both my son and hubby were born in the year of the pig, so it’s a special animal in our hearts 😉
