And so begins the countdown to the holidays and I am going to be posting about all the books you want to be reading…
Creepy
This book was written for “Actual Factual” loving children everywhere. It is a fabulously fantastic read, and absolutely packed with facts. It is written for emerging readers, but nature lovers of all ages, will love this book as it is a treasure chest of facts, divided up into interesting chapters like: Stinkies, Spit kings, Jigglies and many more.
Within each chapter there are a couple of facts… all in small bite size sections. Each bite-size secrion describes a weird and wonderful creature, with great cartoon-style illustrations. The book is picture rich and so keeps the readers engaged.
There is also a wonderful special little feature, perfect for puzzlers… at the back of the book are some really gorgeous full colour spread illustrations, where the corresponding number for each creature can be found. So, for example, if you have never known what a leopard Moray looks like, head for #60 in the colourful pages at the back of the book.
Otherwise, the book is a comfortable size, not overwhelmingly large, despite its widespread content… and also not too small as to feel less of a fact book, for a discerning fact book lover. This book is extremely giftable, for weird and wild fact collectors, there are over a hundred weird and wonderful creatures in the pages of this book. Highly recommend for the curious crowd.
