August 27th, 2008 · 4 Comments

These are just the cake ideas… If you are looking for more party ideas then have a look here the Se7en Steps to a Good Party… and otherwise if you need to know more about cakes then take a look here: Party Food and Especially Party Cakes…

As you can see by the following examples – the shapes are easy and all completely doable out of everyday kitchen bowl shapes. Not to mention you can get the cakes into lovely three-dimensional shapes…

This is a starry first birthday party – place the softened ice-cream in a baking tray and then when the ice cream has frozen solid just cut out the starry shapes and you are done.

This was for a mad monster party – talk about an honesty blog!

And a yellow submarine:

A pirate galleon:

A space craft, with a glass bowl on top:

A magnifying glass – with an icing sugar fingerprint on the lens, for spy party.

A butterfly:

A campsite:

A treasure chest full of skittles:

A Roman chariot:

A penguin with marshmallow icebergs:

The BFG by Roald Dahl:

A chameleon:

A bag party:

Jelly people around ice-cream scoops for a rag doll party:

A compass for an explorer party:

Whip a tub of cream and split it into two batches – use food coloring for a batch of red and a batch of green. “Ice” your cake with cream and pop it back into the freezer to set. Remember you are not after perfection, an approximation is good enough, really!!! [...]
