The weather is undecided… torrenting rain and then tepid sunshine and then rain and then sunshine…

But look there are poppies and a sure sign of Spring!!!

And our little visitors are getting a lot less little… And new neighbors that are forever in the garden so I can no longer just toss them over the hedge… eeeek!!!

Meanwhile some folks made a movie on our block!!!

And we love anything to do with making movies… even if it is watching the mobile canteen that practically parked in our driveway!!!

There was a birthday…

And so obviously a trip to the Ice Cafe…

And there were dragons: Lego dragons…

Duplo dragons…

A major garden frenzy… major, major garden frenzy!!!

And someone really wants to get our next vegetable spot going!!!

And our first salad from the garden this year…

And look at those knees… summer knees are coming!!!

I am guessing a little person doesn’t remember the beach from last summer and he was like: “Ohhh water”… “Ohhh dig, dig, dig…” and the mere suggestion of going home was like… “Busy, dig, dig, dig!!!”

I have finally arrived… when you say beach a little person grabs the backpack… More important…there are big guys who all want to carry it!!! it may well be a great summer for the beach!!!

There was, of course, heaps of arting… Chalk Art..

Face Art… We learnt how to draw faces in proportion!!! Well finally – it has only taken my whole life to learn that!!!

Pinwheel Art…

And lots of painting…

And my favorite art of the week… well those little hands!!!

Meanwhile we made it to the library – YAY!!!

And we read some books…

Read…

And read some more..

And even more…

Our preparations for Lesotho are going so well and our book of the week has to be:

With more than one of us packed way in advance…

And this is what the hoods got up to:
Hood #1: Survived another music exam, I don’t know who was more elated – him or his teacher!!!

Hood #2: Did the whole scientific thing…

Hood #3: Was right up there in the scientific exploration…

And had another music concert… She could not have stood further from the camera!!! But it was brilliant, one violin practicing in your home sounds well… sounds! But put a whole bunch of about fifty of them all playing together in the same room and suddenly “London’s Burning” isn’t so very ordinary at all!!! In fact it sounds brilliant!!! I was so impressed!!!

Hood #4: Is taking the family LEGO obsession to heart and who knows where his clothes have gone because all his drawers are packed with LEGO!!!

Hood #5: Continues to chef… and chef… and chef…

And is hard at work mastering the pestle and mortar…

And apparently chef’s need to drive places… and thanks to zoobs, he is good to go.

Hood #6: Well arting of course!!!

And always willing to help me look for whales… ’tis the season!!!

Hood #7: Picnics… if no-one will join me that’s fine!!!

And reading in book nooks and if everyone else is doing school them that’s fine!!!

Hood #8: Finally has a pair of shoes to call his own…

And he is so into camping right now…

And keeping himself busy – “borrowing” something from every other sibling, while they are busy with school!!!

And more apps with his father person at bedtime!!!

This is what little people do when they get together nowadays… they play with apple apps!!!

And yes he got into the chocolate dessert too!!!

What can I say… even busy guys need to sleep!!!

your desctiptions of #8 at the beach was jsut too precious 🙂
And the faces your hoods make when they concentrate…. LOVE it. See you tomorrow
I think your idea of photographing the library books is a good one. I could remember which ones we have had and also, what they look like as I play hunt the library book.
What a busy week. Congrats on the music exam and performance. Belated happy birthday to you, too.
Hi Cheryl, I tell you that photograph has saved the day on many an occasion!!! No-one is allowed to touch the books until they have had their picture taken… It is so much easier to look for a wandering book when you now what it is!!! And I finally have your package ready to post… I know slow and steady wins the race… and then their is just slow an slower that never gets anything done!!! So glad that music exam is over – I hate them!!! But it is good for my kids to be tried and tested for something… so music it is!!! Everyone is aways much happier for the other 48 weeks of the year that they don’t give it a thought!!! Hope you are all having a fun weekend!!! Lots of love from a chilly Cape Town!!!
