I love that this book was locally grown, and so filled with interesting facts about local birds, birds that can be found all over Southern Africa.
You are going to have to get your markers and coloured pencils out for this book because there are different activities on every single spread: word searches, to colouring, mazes and quizzes, matching games and codes. It is just fabulous. Every large size spread is filled with bright illustrations and full colour photographs.
From feathers to eggs and chicks to beaks, talons to colours, not to mention so many types of birds. Penguins and flamingoes, cranes and weavers, swallows and owls… honestly it is a lot. Who knew we had such variety and so many many interesting snippets for bird lovers of all ages.
This book would be perfect for a rainy day, to stay home and discover… and especially perfect for grabbing on the go, for a wintry outing to Intake Island, Rondevlei or Kirstenbosch.
This book is also available in Afrikaans and would be a perfect book to use for school projects, orals and assignments.
