The library was closed last week and this week we ran out of gas getting there… picture this: a mother, her van-load of se7en ever so calmly gliding to halt 50 meters from the gas station… but we persevered…and got some fresh books for the week to come.

And our book of the week was a home favorite… we have read this book every Sunday evening (when we do a favorite of the week round-up) for the last 11 years!!! We can’t get enough of the magic and we always want to dash out and grow things! Scarlette Beane:

And we rediscovered the picnic, yay for the warm weather, and one less meal that we need to sweep up after!!!

Hood 4:

We are really trying to lower the volume of this child – he is REALLY LOUD VOICED!

“Could you please talk a little softer?”

“I CAN”T”

“Just try it.”

“YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND, MY LIFE IS SO EXCITING THAT I NEED TO SHOUT ABOUT IT!”

Anyway, he got stuck into his reading… and I am winding myself through 100 lessons, yet again.

Long may that last! He also tried to take out his eye – via electrocution, and then made a model of the whole event just to show me how it happened. Thank goodness he didn’t repeat it because quite frankly I do not need to know which wire into which plug caused whatever explosion – really I don’t!

Told me: ” I have read it and read it, but it is so big I can never remember it all – I need a back-up drive. AHA!!! – Don’t we all.

Hood 6: Was available to help in every project! There’s help and there’s help!

DSC04076.JPGDSC04074.JPG

She mastered clapping, waving, standing and the hug… all in one week.

And if you are still reading here is a little quiz for you: Which nutty hood sideled up next to me to cook supper dressed as a – Well a what? – A grumbly growly cushion monster!
