Where the Wild Things Are, Se7en Pairs of Terrible Yellow Eyes…

I mentioned last weekend that we were having three parties and one of them was a “Where the Wild Things Are Party,” which happens to be the most sought after question I ever get from Google. Well that and Jamie Oliver’s meatballs!!!

We have done a Wild Thing Round-up and I will post our party this week coming but meanwhile here comes the quickest easiest “Wild Thing” craft in the world…

“…And when he came to the place where the wild things are they roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws till Max said “BE STILL!” and tamed them with the magic trick of staring into all their yellow eyes without blinking once…” from Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.

And this is what you are aiming for: Some terrible yellow eyes…

Let’s Meet the Players:

  • Two circles of yellow card.
  • Markers or crayons for decorating.
  • Some thread, string or elastic.

Let’s Play the Game:

Step 1: Decorate your eyes, we used markers.

Step 2: Poke a hole in the center of each eye.

Step 3: Then we popped a hole in the top of each piece of card and threaded our string through them.

Step 4: Tie them on and you are done – seriously!!!
