Another great book from Scripture Union. I am all for my kids reading and exploring their Bibles and anything that encourages them is just up my street. This is a great book that my four reading kids would love to get their hands on!!!
As travelers in the modern world we rely on travel guides, when it comes to us and our kids the Bible can indeed be a foreign land. This book is the Bible travel guide for kids. It is just like a real travel guide that will hopefully get tattered and over used like a real travel guide.
It is written in the style of a travel book – 101 Routes to Explore, Into the Bible. It has everything a travel guide has: Route Marker Facts; Compass Directions; Maps; Inspirational People, who have been there; Quick Questions to Think About; A Glossary and an Actual Guide. The guide is a gecko that leads the way through the book.
Like most travel guides this book wet’s your appetite with snippets and extracts, it doesn’t give you the entire story and every single detail but you will come away with a very good idea of the story of the Bible. You will explore through the various genres of writing found throughout the Bible: History and Poetry; Heroics and Dramatics; Good Guys and Bad Guys… Really this book is the sort of book that would encourage my kids to take a more detailed trip into their own Bible.
