A couple of weeks back I mentioned that it was time for us to get working on our Sketchbook…

And I asked you all what you would like in a Companion Book… recipes, things to do through the seasons, things you need to know, things to remember… So last Monday and Tuesday out came the markers, the paints, the pens… and a heap of cutting and snipping…

Of course I didn’t begin right away and of course I spent last Monday and Tuesday posting updates on Instagram… as I battled to reach the deadline…

And finally popped it into an envelope and dashed to the post office, only to discover that they close their doors ten minutes early. Gasp! And a quick call and a dash across town to a different post office that shuts half an hour later. Our envelope was off, and I was sorry to see it go. I liked our book and had become friends and to be honest I would have liked to do a little more fixing and cutting and sticking… next year don’t let me leave it till the very last minute!!!

And here you go… A cover that hides the secrets within…

And an introduction… I was thinking of a Companion Book as a little book full of things you need to know and packed with little reminders… things you don’t want to forget.

Including a few lists of things you own, like your games shelf so that when you are out and about you don’t gather duplicates.

And a notebook for jotting things down…

A must know recipe for the quickest easiest cake in the world…

A page of gift ideas… I have a list but often get distracted… so a list to keep me on track.

Two quick crafts to know: How to make pipe cleaner people and How to make a jeans bag… This information can literally knock the socks off your kids as you surprise them!!!

Se7en Essential Craft Supplies to keep on hand…

A list of places we’ve been and places we still have to go…

Travel tips and very basic essentials to pack…

Things to pop into your backpack…

Don’t forget your passport…

And a list of things to remember to collect throughout the year – things to pop into your family year book.

And on to the seasons… and easy things to do through out the year…

Time to start your vegi-garden…

And lift the flap…

And Summer Fun…

And things to do in the summertime…

And Autumn…

And time to feed the birds…

And finally Winter…

And winter fun…

And all too soon our book was done!!!
If you enjoyed that then you might want to take a peak at last years book:
