Saturday Spot: Se7en + 1 Visit the Awesome Gold Restaurant Again…

November 19th, 2012 · 8 Comments

I know we have blogged about Gold Restaurant before… and even before that… the thing is that we love it completely, those smiling happy faces are so welcoming… They have moved from the city centre to a very vibrant district just outside of the Waterfront and we love it!!!

DSC_0107

They have so cleverly found ways to decorate with gold… even gold dripping from the ceilings…

DSC_0110

Literally… look at the beautiful lampshades…

DSC_0113

Under those lamps… gold of course!!!

DSC_0114

And of course their was drumming…

DSC_0131

Up on the roof top…

DSC_0186

Rows of drums waiting for us…

DSC_0181

Drumming under African skies…

Drumming for our dinner…

Fabulous teachers inspiring away…

Even small drummers…

Lots of drummers…

And downstairs to a table for ten!!!

DSC_0194

Don’t you love the flowers…

DSC_0227

And our chef vanished into the kitchen…

DSC_0196

He looks like he was “going home”…

DSC_0207

And the dishes… oh I love the dishes…

DSC_0201 DSC_0211

And delights ready to serve…

DSC_0212

Don’t these gals look lovely…

DSC_0199

And there we go…

DSC_0216

Plates and plates of sumptuous food… go ahead and read the menu - you really do want to, they explain their food so well and weave a fine tale through their menu!!!

DSC_0220

Delicious smoked snoek pate, biltong dip and pot bread.

Everyone loves having their own little bread!!!

DSC_0222

Tunisian Briquats and Zambian Imfino Patties

And we all love these beautiful pies!!!

And then more drumming…

And out came our friend…

DSC_0241

To say hi!!!

DSC_0247

And drumming…

DSC_0283

And traditional-dancing…

DSC_0308

Wild-dancing…

DSC_0297

Less traditional-dancing…

DSC_0292

And I-am-so-tired-you-have-to-carry-me-dancing…

DSC_0287

And the next round of dishes arrived…

DSC_0263

North African Couscous, Namibian Venison Pot, Tanzanian Mchicha Wa’nazi, Malay Lentil Dahl,

My favourite dish…

Good-night Gold Restaurant… and thank-you for another totally wonderful evening, we love your new venue and your new menu!!!

Gold Restaurant invited us to a complimentary dinner to see their new venue and to try out their new menu. We were not paid in anyway to write this review, the opinions expressed were entirely our own!!!
