A week that was post… and the season changed…

It is the season for beautiful skies…

And crisp cold walks on the beach…

And long walks…

And many days with nobody else on the beach at all…

And from one week to the next…

The trees were leafless…

And did I mention very crisp walks…

And beach reflections…

And ship spotting…

Looking for trains…

And train spotting…

And train trips…

There is a season for sleeping late… it has been that cold.

And lots of games…

One or two folk getting up before dawn…

And in the depths of the birthday season…

And getting out in the sun whenever we can…

And plenty of visitors…

Some are prettier than others…

And books in bed…

Well books and kids…

Countless jugs of cocoa…

And wintry vegetables…

And more vegetables…

And mid-night snacks…

Meeting lots and lots of people…

And we are in the heart of our school year,

And yes, I am the scribe…

And a lone scholar… because only the people that don’t have to sit at the table for school from time to time see the novelty in it!!!

And hide-and-seek…

Hours spent on real live pinterest… I think we need shares in a gluestick supplier, just saying!!!

And floating away on a magic carpet with a pile of books… as one does…

And endless play…

And one child that thinks we live in the Balmy Bahamas… and just does not feel the cold…

Did I mention books and blankets on the couch weather… except for one who cannot feel the cold.

And one who can’t keep their feet on the ground…

Rock Hopping…

And if you can’t make the gap, then just hitch a ride…

Passing the time…

And long chats with teens… chocolate saves many a day!!!

And ketchup filled with gardening inspiration…

And Wild Beasts…

And these two…

And friends who love ice-cream as much as we do…

And the Artwork of the Week

And the Book of the Week
We have been doing tons of learning about South Africa for school… virtual road tripping and hunting down landmarks… and this book from the library turned out to be just the best in terms of South African flavour and fun for little people.

Nursery Rhymes and Verse by Liz Mills and Published by RandomStruik. We absolutely loved these South African re-inventions of Nursery rhymes… great fun to find some familiar South Aficanisms between the pages and quite a few we learnt off by heart.
And this is what the Hoods have been up to

Hood #1: Cartooning, cartooning, cartooning…

Hood #2: It has been wet, wet, wet…. we even had to bring out the family raincoat. Just one, we really do not believe in winter!!!

Hood #3: Discovered the thesaurus… lost in words!!!

Hood #4: Beautiful hand writing practice – not exactly, but he did make the easel and the quill pen!!!

Hood #5: Discovering new heights!!!

Hood #6: Always busy with a project…

Hood #7: Spot the fairy flitting around in the garden… everyone else has track pants and sweaters on!!!

Hood #8: Every family needs an air guitarist… And some cookies…

Just sharing the love…

Hope you are having the most fabulous week!!!
Oh, how lovely are your days! That pintarest from “old days” is just what we love these days 😉
Oh my hat! I love the photos.
Love your child who feels no cold, and “this world is a terrible place” (I nearly spat out my water – it made me laugh so) and the little tongue from the air guitarist.
I’m going to search for those lemon biscuits now!
