It is the season for beautiful skies…

se7en-06-May-14-IMG_4656.jpg

And crisp cold walks on the beach…

se7en-20-May-14-DSC_0241.jpg

And long walks…

se7en-11-Jun-14-DSC_0839.jpg

And many days with nobody else on the beach at all…

se7en-11-Jun-14-IMG_5625.jpg

And from one week to the next…

se7en-18-May-14-IMG_4996.jpg

The trees were leafless…

se7en-25-May-14-IMG_5140.jpg

And did I mention very crisp walks…

se7en-16-May-14-IMG_4901.jpg

And beach reflections…

se7en-23-May-14-IMG_5107.jpg

And ship spotting…

And train trips…

se7en-18-May-14-DSC_0159.jpg

There is a season for sleeping late… it has been that cold.

se7en-03-May-14-IMG_4616.jpg

And lots of games…

se7en-04-May-14-IMG_4638.jpg

One or two folk getting up before dawn…

se7en-05-May-14-IMG_4643.jpg

And in the depths of the birthday season…

se7en-20-May-14-IMG_5052.jpg

And getting out in the sun whenever we can…

se7en-06-May-14-IMG_4650.jpg

And plenty of visitors…

se7en-07-May-14-IMG_4699.jpg

Some are prettier than others…

se7en-21-May-14-DSC_0616.jpg

And books in bed…

se7en-09-May-14-IMG_4716.jpg

Well books and kids…

se7en-09-May-14-IMG_4724.jpg

Countless jugs of cocoa…

se7en-10-May-14-IMG_4749.jpg

And wintry vegetables…

se7en-13-May-14-IMG_4820.jpg

And more vegetables…

se7en-29-May-14-IMG_5216.jpg

And mid-night snacks…

se7en-09-Jun-14-IMG_5578.jpg

Meeting lots and lots of people…

se7en-09-May-14-IMG_4726.jpg

And we are in the heart of our school year,

se7en-20-May-14-IMG_5034.jpg

And yes, I am the scribe…

se7en-13-May-14-IMG_4795.jpg

And a lone scholar… because only the people that don’t have to sit at the table for school from time to time see the novelty in it!!!

se7en-03-Jun-14-IMG_5302.jpg

And hide-and-seek…

se7en-16-Jun-14-DSC_0037.jpg

Hours spent on real live pinterest… I think we need shares in a gluestick supplier, just saying!!!

se7en-16-May-14-IMG_4869.jpg

And floating away on a magic carpet with a pile of books… as one does…

se7en-16-May-14-IMG_4886.jpg

And endless play…

se7en-19-May-14-IMG_5003.jpg

And one child that thinks we live in the Balmy Bahamas… and just does not feel the cold…

se7en-19-May-14-IMG_5015.jpg

Did I mention books and blankets on the couch weather… except for one who cannot feel the cold.

se7en-10-Jun-14-IMG_5596.jpg

And one who can’t keep their feet on the ground…

se7en-20-May-14-DSC_0202.jpg

Rock Hopping…

se7en-20-May-14-DSC_0273.jpg

And if you can’t make the gap, then just hitch a ride…

se7en-20-May-14-DSC_0256.jpg

Passing the time…

se7en-21-May-14-DSC_0561.jpg

And long chats with teens… chocolate saves many a day!!!

se7en-31-May-14-IMG_5260.jpg

And ketchup filled with gardening inspiration…

se7en-24-May-14-IMG_5125.jpg

And Wild Beasts…

se7en-24-May-14-IMG_5127.jpg

And these two…

se7en-27-May-14-IMG_5146.jpg

And friends who love ice-cream as much as we do…

se7en-02-Jun-14-IMG_5288.jpg

And the Artwork of the Week

se7en-05-Jun-14-IMG_5375.jpg

And the Book of the Week

We have been doing tons of learning about South Africa for school… virtual road tripping and hunting down landmarks… and this book from the library turned out to be just the best in terms of South African flavour and fun for little people.

Nursery Rhymes and Verse by Liz Mills and Published by RandomStruik. We absolutely loved these South African re-inventions of Nursery rhymes… great fun to find some familiar South Aficanisms between the pages and quite a few we learnt off by heart.

And this is what the Hoods have been up to

se7en-29-May-14-IMG_5219.jpg

Hood #1: Cartooning, cartooning, cartooning…

se7en-09-Jun-14-IMG_5575.jpg

Hood #2: It has been wet, wet, wet…. we even had to bring out the family raincoat. Just one, we really do not believe in winter!!!

se7en-20-May-14-IMG_5040.jpg

Hood #3: Discovered the thesaurus… lost in words!!!

se7en-29-May-14-IMG_5203.jpg

Hood #4: Beautiful hand writing practice – not exactly, but he did make the easel and the quill pen!!!

se7en-20-May-14-DSC_0240.jpg

Hood #5: Discovering new heights!!!

se7en-09-Jun-14-DSC_0776.jpg

Hood #6: Always busy with a project…

se7en-14-May-14-IMG_4841.jpg

Hood #7: Spot the fairy flitting around in the garden… everyone else has track pants and sweaters on!!!

se7en-27-May-14-IMG_5155.jpg

Hood #8: Every family needs an air guitarist… And some cookies…

se7en-28-May-14-IMG_5195.jpg

Just sharing the love…
