Well Happy Mid-Winter… Amidst the rain and all the cold… we had a day of sunshine, I feel we used it wisely.

And yes some folk were brave enough to swim… but let’s just say it was instantaneous: in the water and straight out!!!

Book of the Week

BodyGuard Ransom by Chris Bradford, and published by Penguin Books South Africa. The first book in this series came out a year ago and all I can say is, that it has been a long wait!!! When we met Chris Bradford, the author of the Young Samurai series, I knew my kids would be hooked on his writing. He is a great writer of adventure books and you can hear him read the words as he writes… Conner Reeves is the bodyguard, a new kind of hero put in place to protect the twin daughters of an ultra wealthy businessman. He is the perfect choice of bodyguard, practically invisible… since no-one would expect a average looking teenager to have the skills of a trained and highly skilled bodyguard. The plot takes place off the coast of East Africa, and pirates have hijacked the yacht the teens were on. Of course an adventure of fantastic proportions follows. Short, sharp chapters and very exciting action make this a fabulous read… the number one complaint was that it was over far too fast. This is the second book in the Bodyguard series, we reviewed the first one, Bodyguard Hostage in this post, you can take a look at The BodyGuardBooks Website over here.

We were given this book for review purposes by Penguin Books South Africa, we were not paid for this review and our opinions are as usual our own.
