A Week of sunshine and preparations…
It has been really hot here so heaps of lounging around and one of us just had to get into the pool in all his clothes!!!
We did have time for a misty morning walk in the mountains…
And a Water lily explosion…
And heaps of glorious spiderwebs:
And a picnic…
Lots of little preparations… nothing major it was just too hot!!! Lots of secret crafting, my favorite was the painting of pencils…
And playing right under my sewing feet!!!
We had time for our annual Christmas Book Fair…
Meant it was very quiet around here…
There was time for games:
And the putting up of the tree…
And is there not something totally darling about a toddler and a Christmas tree… decorated one day and well not so much the next!!! But so worth watching his wonder!!! And those little podgy hands reaching for all that is shiny and interesting!!!
I have the knack of hiding gifts around the house, in plain view… So well in fact that I discovered our forgotten easter eggs…
At least one of us was overjoyed!!!
And this little one woke up in the night and interrupted our gift wrapping session, we never said a word about it and it took a while for her torealize that the lounge was not as it usually is… and then her eyes literally popped out on stalks before she went back to bed… Next morning: “Did you notice anything when you woke up in the night?”… “Yes, there were lots of stars.” !!!
Roast dinner for my mom in law, not to mention my carnivores on Christmas Eve…
Otherwise Christmas is indeed our day and apart from swapping gifts… huge excitement!!!
And a dancing frenzy…
Waffles and tea were requested for dinner!!!
And bedtime reading of crisp new books… And a little lego offering on my laptop!!!
And our Book of the Week was:
This is what the Hoods got up to:
Hood #1: His week was all about LEGO… as usual!!!
Hood #2: Kept discovering bugs of note…
Hood #3: Was responsible for wonderful mint brownies…
Very Yummy!!!
Hood #4: His week was all about knights and castles…
Hood #5: Found our beast of the week…
Hood #6: Rediscovered coloring…
Hood #7: Took puzzling to a new level!!!
Hood #8: Produced a molar the size of Mt. Kilimanjaro and still laughed all the way through it!!! And found one of his gifts long before Christmas… and loved it!!!
That’s us!!! Hope you are having a really fun week!!!
Those mint brownies look absolutely delicious!!
Hi Kim… They were indeed delicious… I think I will get her to blog them later in the week!!! Have a lovely day!!!
