It has been a while since a week that was post… but we had our first lazy day in weeks and weeks… no chores, no projects, just reading and naps… and it is amazing how a little break helps you settle down and appreciate the good times you have been having!!!
A lazy Saturday and breakfast out…
Some crisp clear days…
Spotting a little bit of spring…
And salad from the garden every night… note to self plant a fresh crop…
A walk on through the city fringe…
The very hip area of town that crosses from suburban to urban… industry and funkiness trend collide…
And a visit to the father person’s office… and I will never mention wires again… ever…
But the weather has been pretty grim… cold, rainy, windy…
But we have made full use of the sunny moments…
Because who can resist a run on the beach… No matter how cold it is…
We’ve been saving Rhino’s…
And braai’s with friends…
Lots of friends…
And a couple of seasonal house guests…
Luckily it is still too cool for these guys to be too wriggly – not my favourite, mind you!!!
And it has been birthday season…
I’ve been giving talks about blogging… love meeting new bloggers and hearing their amazing stories… and I went on radio with the famous Nancy Richards… lets just say, I am a blogger!!!
We are back in school…
Some students are keener than others…
And some days are for puzzling…
And some days are just spent painting…
We tried out a new game…
And loved it…
These are some of the masterpieces that have landed on my keyboard:
A sensational circus…
When I grow up… I am going to be a mom…
The tiniest paper boat…
So trips to the library…
And many days are just for reading…
And bedtime stories that started really, really early in the evening!!!
And our favourite book of the moment, The Lawn Boy: This was a new school book that we haven’t read before… and instead of a chapter or two every Friday we devoured it over breakfast, lunch and supper in a day… the story about a young boy who needs a new inner tube for his bicycle… he cuts a lawn and before he knows it he has a thriving garden business… seriously is all about finances… in reality it is a furiously fast paced and hysterically funny explanation about how a business begins, and expands… how little ideas become big projects… most important it is fun… the lesson is so “on the side.”
And what have the hoods been up to:
Hood #1: Well Lego in-between reading his way through the Gutenberg collection… Yay for kindles!!!
Hood #2: Reading…
Hood #3: Discovered that she is not always invincible… but pretty close!!!!
Hood #4: Is all about cycling, whenever we are with friend a bike – he’s on it!!!
Has been doing some cellular science…
Hood #5: Well he is all about cooking…
Hood #6: Is full of bouncy beans…
And special treats out…
Hood #7: We have a new family member…
And the se7en + 1th…
Hood #8: Went from little guy to boy in a flash…
A man with a train…
And he is never very far from it…
Is the puzzle champion of the world…
That’s us… Hope you have a fabulous week!!!
These are my favourite posts. I love seeing what each hood has been up to 😉
Hay Kim, I think these are probably my favorite posts to write… gather the photos into one spot and spin the story around them… they have rhythm and are packed with memories – so very fun for us to look at!!! Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you have a fantastic week!!!
What a fantastic week – so fun! I love these posts too and what a great way to chronicle time for all the hoods (and for you!). I’m so glad I’m keeping up with the blog again – great to know how everyone’s doing & see the wonderful photos. 🙂
