Se7en’s Fabulous Friday Fun #59

We have a kid who loves facts… and he begins almost every sentence with “Did ja know? … Well I have a “Did ja know?” for you… Did Ja know that if you never delete anything on your computer and you just keep on opening things and well just NEVER deleting ANYTHING that your computer will eventually croak, sigh and stop…STOP!!! So a slow week of blogging as my computer crawled to a halt. Never mind, it means your posts are ready for next week!!! But I am trying a new editor and I am a galactically slow learner… so be patient, I beg you!!! Here come this weeks favorite links:

  1. I think I would like to be writer just so that I could have a shed in the garden… on second thoughts I can’t imagine what I would write about, so do you think I could just have a totally cool shed in the garden?
  2. Our summer is too hot to breathe and for many of you the winter is still too cold to stir… take a look at a heap of Boredom Busters on Mini-Eco. Totally brilliant ideas there!!!
  3. Oh you will totally totally love this post from Fimby… All the Art Supplies you could possibly need for a young artist.
  4. I just discovered Indie Fixx has a Book Club… go and check out this weeks Girl Detective Series through the Ages…
  5. And I love Made by Joel’s Happy Crafts for Kids, just take a look at these… I know my junk artist will be very inspired by these!!!
  6. I think I would like to visit San Francisco, just to see Curious George at the Museum.
  7. We have been eating just these: Herby potatoes and doesn’t Alisa Burke make them look so pretty!!! Pop a kidlet into the garden to pick herbs at dinner time and ta da!!! Yum!!!
  8. And the Se7en + 1th Thing…

  9. This week on The Organizing Junkies 52 Weeks: #9 What is Your Good Enough?.
After turning our house inside out three weeks ago with major furniture shuffle and two weeks of serious decluttering it was time to put things back where they belonged and make sure that stuff fitted into the allocated spot… we are not quite done… but close!!! See clutter free surfaces…

I know those are books – but there is nothing on top of the books!!!

And the spot that we worked hardest on was our school corner…

The bottom drawers have goodies to keep the shortest person busy during school…

The top is pretty clutter free…

But I know my kids like a bit of chaos and sorting and discovering, so there is a whole lot of scientific mess in the box…

And the shelves: Top shelf… puzzles, next shelf science kits and essentials, next shelf is our arty goods…

And I had no idea just how many games we had because they were stashed all over the house – store like things together. I will give it a while and the games that we don’t play with are on their way out!!!

Still lots to do, but this week I saw a heap of progress and that was encouraging!!! Note to self, be very wary of taking on the whole house all at once next time!!! And perhaps I should be focusing my decluttering on my computer this week!!!

That’s us – Hope you are having a really fun weekend!!!

  1. Oh my. I’m cooking lunch at the moment. So hungry after seeing the potatoes. We do the same recipe except I wrap them up in a baking parchment pouch. Going to buy my seed potatoes this afternoon. Yeh!

    Your decluttering is truely inspirational.

  2. Hi T, Editor – The jury is still out, just saying!!! We are actually headed for green point park in the near future it is on our long list of places to go!!! Hope you have a great week!!!

  3. Oh Cheryl, Oh wish we could grow potatoes, my kids have very fond memories of planting potatoes in a field with friends in Wales. We can’t grow any root vegetables here without an invasion of baboons just as they are ready to harvest – every time… and they totally destroy your entire garden in about five seconds flat!!! And thank-you for noticing the decluttering it has been monumental, in a house that I didn’t think we could get rid of much more… so much more has gone!!! As my eldest says – “This is a long process of refining!!!”… it is great to finally start seeing tangible results!!! Hope you guys have a great week… dust bunnies are about the least of the worries that I have discovered around here just lately!!!

  4. Hi there Happy Homemaker!!! I would love to join your link party… sounds like fun!!! Have a great day!!!
