We had a glorious day of sunshine and after weeks indoors we had to be out and about…
I did something we hardly ever do… and went into the museum for a visit…
We met some wild beasts…

One of us was quite animated about the whole event…
Penguins…
And just a little curiosity…
And explored the ocean…

Wow… the whales…

We listened to the whales…
And noticed a LOT of shark activity around our coast…
And got swallowed by a shark…

The dinosaurs definitely were the feature of the day…

There was awe…
Seriously, world of wonder…
And there be dragons..

Just how big is your hand?

And were they going somewhere?

There was a lecturer…

And we have more than one teacher…
And a couple of bones…
Glad he didn’t break that leg!!!
And mind those teeth…
Of the giant ‘gator…
And babies!!!
We made it through… and the museum was still standing…
And who can resist a map…

And now my kids all know that their are a heap of museums in Cape Town that they haven’t visited!!!
And out we went…
Into the sunshine…
And a clamber…
And we met the pigeons…

And this little guy could not get enough of the pigeons!!!
Absolutely no peace for the pigeons…

And look for plaques to discover who’s who of the statues…

We had to look for the gigantic fish in the fish ponds…

A glance at the Art Gallery…
And a wander up and down The Company Gardens…

Up town…
And down town…
We had to capture our pigeon pirate and head for home…
My kids are dying to go back with their sketchbooks. Have to say a trip to the museum was good fun… an easy and interesting outing. Well worth a trip into the city!!! Now that everyone has a pamphlet and knows that there are more than a few museums to visit, I am thinking we will be bringing you a series on Cape Town’s museums…
