So everything around here has been very sharky since the Saturday Spot: The Beach Post.
Sharks here:
Sharks just about everywhere:
So this is what we did: We made Shark Attack Pictures.
Step 1: We started with wax crayons on cardboard.
And drew some under water scenes from inside the sea, looking past some paddling feet and shipwrecks.
Step 2: Then we washed over our pictures with blue ink – actually we always use food coloring instead of ink, to make the sea.
Step 3: You can use any small bits of paper, but we used my friends post-it-notes and markers to draw lots of little fish.
Step 4: Snip your fish out.
Stick them on to your painting.
There you go a couple of fishy ocean views.
Step 5: Now you need to make a toothy frame. We used the classified add pages from the newspaper. I cut them out in squares the same size as the pictures.
Then folded them in quarters. Place them on top of each other, all lying in the same direction.
Cut an arch of jagged shark teeth.
And open them up.
Step 6: We used a glue stick to glue the shark teeth onto the paintings.
And your paintings will be the view through the sharks mouth – hmmmmmm!
Step 7: Finally we went around the jagged teeth with fat marker. So that the frame stood out better.
There you are… a shark feast!
I think this view from a shark’s mouth is just a fantastic project – and have linked to it from my post today about kids’ picture books about sharks

Thanks for the inspiration!
