We needed to do an Earth Day project and so I looked around for some recycled goodies: Some flexible wire we had lying around and beads from all my little girls broken necklaces and yes the toy necklace elastic never lasts… and we were good to go.
Now one thing we have in South Africa is sidewalk art and I have been keen to try these flowers for years… So here we go our inspiration and our materials:
Step 1: Pop a bead onto the end of your wire and twist the wire round it so that the bead can not pop off.
Step 2: Now twist, turn, thread and bead as much as you like…
Step 3: Getting perfect flower shapes is not quite as easy as it looks but the results were brilliant and original honest art!
Once we started we couldn’t stop… its one of those “Just one more” projects!!! As I was writing this I thought a bunch of these would make a great gift… Mother’s Day is looming after all!!!
I love how pretty these are, and they look really easy to make too. What fun! 🙂
Hi L, It is so good to hear from you again!!! I loved the way these flowers all came out so differently… The softer the wire the easier they are to bend into shape. You have a great weekend!
I love them!
It’s hard for us to come up with wire hangers, but I’ll keep this in mind.
Hi S, So nice to have you stop by! We used some ancient florist wire… I once bought a whole roll for “potential projects” and we have used it too death! Take Care!
