We started making little tiny birdhouses out of matchboxes, and very quickly it grew into a village, and it would have evolved into a city. A metropolis in fact, but we had to stop and have supper…
So here we go in Se7en Steps:
- We emptied out our matchboxes of matches and covered them in white paper.
- Once we had a blank box to work on we used markers to draw and turn them into the little bird houses.
- We made sure there was a little door in each one and an adult cut the doors for the birdhouses…
- Then we decided that our birds would need some indoor facilities!!! So we made little pictures to go into each house: little tables, chairs, beds and so on…
- Now all houses need a roof… so little strips were cut and colored and folded…
- Then the we added on each roof!!!
- Then let’s meet the Poms. These are our little birds, they are tiny pom poms. Little eyes and a beak were popped on with a marker…
And the Se7en + 1th Step:
- And finally they were popped on the door to be admired… and I am not sure how but as always a little bark version was added in to the mix!!!
Have a look at the tiny details…
And the whole collection…
And folded…
And here is the gallery…click on any image if you want to see them bigger…
And Hood #3 thinks they will make fabulous teeny, tiny Gift Bags…
And all the houses needed was some street numbers and it would make a super cute advent calendar… just pop open the doors on the day…
