Sunday Snippet: Lesotho Update…

A couple of weeks back we wrote about our hope to visit Lesotho this coming Spring as part of our churches mission team. We mentioned in that post that we were hoping that someone in the church would lend us a car for the trip and someone has – so we are off!!! Huge excitement, unimaginable joy at the thought of visiting and serving and meeting our friends in Lesotho.

At the same time we mentioned our trip we asked you all to send us “Back to School” supplies for the very poor and rural school we will be visiting. We have been overwhelmed with your brilliant response and can not thank you all enough… The packages are rolling in, and our Pay Pal account has fattened up for a shopping spree: imagine the fun of buying boxes of markers and crayons and we just cannot wait!!! Not to mention the sweetest letters from little people promising to pray for us. You have no idea what this means to us, thank you all for your wonderful support!!!

We have been learning all about Lesotho at this website… Lovely!!! There are lots of printables and ideas for games and just generally life in Lesotho. You may not be quite as obsessed as we are but this page has so much to learn about on it… It is where we first learnt about keyhole gardens. I am finding artworks of Lesotho flags and vehicles climbing mountains… heaps of research on my kids part as they learn more about where they are going in a couple of weeks time…

So thank you all for your support and we will keep you posted with our Lesotho News…

  1. So glad that you can go. I thought, for a moment, after your post about your van, that this was saying that you weren’t able to go. We look forward to exploring the Lesotho website.

  2. Hi Sarah, We knew our van would never make it, but we were kind of hoping it would keep going a little longer in our day to day travels… Anyway we are so greatful for generous hearts and a vehicle that will fit us all onboard…. great excitement!!! Hope you have a good week!!!

  3. Hi Cheryl, Thank you so much for posting us a package!!! Don’t worry about it getting here, so much stuff has made it all the way in really short times. If we do have packages that miss the proverbial boat then we will find a way to get them there!!!Thanks again, I can’t thank you enough!!!

  4. such a crazy coincidence — my best friend just returned from doing peace corps duty in lesotho!!! she was a teacher trainer. 🙂

  5. Hay Lori… Is that not the most amazing coincidence – it is a very small world after all… I won’t feel so small once we have driven to Lesotho I am sure… hours an hours and hours in the car. But so worth it, we are all sososososososo excited!!! Thanks so much for commenting, I really appreciate it!!!
