This book has clear instructions and the crafts are so enticing, the photography and make it a visual invitation… even my non-readers were ready to just dive right in. The book is strong and the pages are made of wipe clean card. My little girls just were too excited for words, they had to get started right away!!!

‘Tis the season for glitter…

The craft was all about making a dragon or fairies… my girls made Christmas angels and they were very pleased with the results!!!

Hood #4 tried another craft: A Penguin from tin-foil…

He managed this craft following the step by step directions…

Other crafts are monster finger puppets, paper pets, snowflakes, party hats, treasure chest, birthday bunting, drums, noticeboards, and crazy can robots…

So my kids liked everything about this book, the fact that the crafts appeared to be so easy and they just looked like a giant invitation to jump in. While books are all about reading even my “not yet reading” kids were able to follow the clear instructions. By far the best thing was that they really could manage most of the crafts themselves, with very little intervention!!! I liked that they were encouraged to try new things, I like that there are a lot of little windows in the book that teach new techniques. Best of all I liked that the projects were open-ended… they offer ideas but then say: Create Away.

The GiveAway works in the usual way, comment and tell us your favorite crafty thing to do, before the end of this coming Sunday, 25 December 2011, and we will draw and publish the winner next week! I won’t respond to your comments as I do on our other posts because I don’t want to be included in our own giveaway.

Our GiveAways are open to everyone: If you have won a GiveAway before never fear – enter away. If you live on the far side of the world – enter away. Postage takes forever from here but eventually it should get to you! Good luck and get commenting!!!

I received these books from Priddy Books in exchange for a review, they did not ask, or pay me to say such lovely things about their products – I said them because their books, and particularly this one is fantastic!!!

  1. Oh my, I do like it! This looks like so much fun! My little boy would be so excited to start crafting!

  2. My son loves to color pages, cut out the shapes/characters he colored and then cut or glue them onto another piece of paper as a collage. He came up with this craft all on his own and does them all the time.

  3. My “favorite” thing changes all the time, but I had a blast making a gingerbread village with my son. We built the houses out of graham crackers and put green icing on ice cream cones for the trees.

  4. I am very crafty and always have been but my son is not ;-( Best craft for him, going through the recycling then sitting down with tape, glue, string, sticks and creating 😉
Hoping my little girl is going to be crafty!
Blessed Christmas to you all x

  5. My son is bonkers over crafting. He loves making robots out of cereal boxes. This book would be wonderful inspiration to him!

  6. Oh such a lovely and fun book! The kiddos would have a blast creating from it – our favorite thing is usually just wherever the creative whim leads us be it salt dough ornaments or handprint crafts, gingerbread houses or sweet cards to send. Thanks for the chance!

  7. Basically anything that involves scissors, glue and googly eyes is a big hit at our house. I like using painted handprints and footprints, because they are so darn cute.
