Seriously, face painting… face painting is my hidden secret – I keep face paints in my bag, along with my camera and my moleskin, it makes me feel like the best mom in the world to always have a couple of face paints along for the ride. The trouble with my awesome mom repertoire is this:

That’s it… whiskers…

And a little black nose…

That’s it, the sum total of my face painting repertoire…

The neat thing about this wild face is that it takes about 3.7 seconds to get it onto a wriggling little face!!!

Well were my kids ever joyful when they saw that we got this book, to review, from Pan Macmillan Books:

This book is packed with fabulous animal faces to create. And for those of us who are ever-so-slightly-challenged in the face painting department there are step by step instructions. Really you can’t go wrong. There was oohing and aaahing and hours of browsing through cat faces, bird, faces, leopards and zebras… bears and butterflies… even fish!!!

So here we go: A butterfly in progress…
Hair back…

Colors colored…

Black outline…

Couple of details… and good to go…

All the while another little person desperate to be a mouse:

Hair back…

Colors colored…

Black outline…

And three wild beasts…

A super fun book for some quick afternoon play!!!

Those faces are amazing – definitely a career option for you :):)
Another giveaway, hooray! My boys would LOVE this book. They adore facepaints, and I am not at all creative (although I have attempted more than whiskers!!). I could do with some new exciting ideas!

Those wild animals are realy cute. My kids also love it but I also do not get much further than whiskers so we can use this book very much 🙂
This is a great book! Here’s another secret…if you buy watercolor pencils and dip the pencil in water they work as very vibrant face paints. And one more secret…you will regret showing your newly-3 year old the previous secret. 😉
I love Christa’s comment! Thanks for the tip about the pencils! I hope we win so we can have some summer fun!
I love face painting too but my skills are limited. This book would be great, I need pictures to look at when I paint faces.
You do whiskers, I normally do a clown – and if anyone says the clown looks funny, I can cover with all sorts of excuses. This book will certainly help improve any future face painting efforts on my part
Looks like so much fun!!
