It is definitely high time for a week that was post… and boy have we been busy…
Now I don’t want you to think that we obsess about the weather or anything, just did I ever mention that we love summer… and all those green leaves on our weather tree represent sunshiny days. But there is a new little nip in the morning air and I fear our glorious days of summer are quickly going to become… autumn.
It was the weekend to watch cyclists and lots of them…
There have been a couple of crazy windy days…
But let’s focus on the sunshine… and the summer of endless ice-creams…
And daily ice-pops…
Not to mention, it has been the summer of endless beach days…
High tide…
And low tide (same spot a couple of hours apart)…
And shark nets…
And swimming…
And rock pooling…
And goggles…
All kinds of goggles…
And sitting next to a Land Rover, because “they are the best cars in the whole world and I can…”
Athletic endeavours…
And driveway racing…
Generalised and continuous play… of the very involved and saga-like variety…
And little house guests…
And smaller house guests…
And close encounters…
Lots of daily walks…
And nightly walks…
And victories…
And a shop window that my kids can’t get enough of… full of classic toy treasures… but it is never open by the time we go on our #dailywalk.
And train spotting…
And train waving…
That quickly became train riding… as one does…
There has been garden taming…
And garden rearranging…
There has been woodworking…
And dismantling…
And earnest organizing…
And meeting blogger friends… and I daresay I may have over talked a little, it was so good to meet a fellow blogger and my goodness we had a lot to say. I think there may have been a moment there when my gang of eight my have overwhelmed with their “not so quiet dinner time antics…” but I am so grateful and thrilled that she had time to visit us during her stay in Cape Town. I tell you the truth I have made the most fabulous friends blogging and I value them so for following alongside on the journey of life. Pop over and visit her, she blogs about organising and don’t we all need that and life with twins, she has two of the sweetest kids on earth.
And the Artwork of the Week
A self-portrait…
And best of friends…
And shoe creation…
And the Book of the Week
Not for the first time and not for the last we are reading Swallows and Amazons, it was one of my father’s childhood favourites and he read it to me… and I have read it to my kids. The beginning of an epic series in a time when children were left to their own devices and adults simply swept into the picture from time to time to offer them copious of supplies of delicious picnic food to eat on their pirateering expeditions.
And this is what the Hoods have been up too
Hood #1: A lot of fun…
Hood #2: And brotherly love…
Hood #3: And baking… baking… baking…
Hood #4: And establishing our territory…
Hood #5: A DJ in training…
Hood #6: Heaps of little friends and the neighbours constantly asking if we are having a party… living it up, I daresay with Watermelon Wednesdays…
Hood #7: New friendly faces al the way from New York…
Hood #8: And outdoor feasts…
And that’s us – wishing you all the best week ahead!!!
