Day 2: Where’s Wally? The Magnificent Mini Book Box

While some books require sitting around and munching on hot chocolate desserts, other books require action… and Where’s Wally books tend to inspire us to action and lots of it… so we made some Magnificient Magnifying Glasses to help us find our friend Where’s Wally all over the place…

This is a collection of five fantastic Where’s Wally books and luckily they come with a magnifying glass… because they are tiny. And I may not have mentioned this before… but once you start staring at a Where’s Wally page you just can’t stop… you have to find him and all his friends… HAVE TO!!!

We love Where’s Wally so much that we have taken him of a tour of our city before… In fact, I will tell you a secret… though we are a couple of years apart, Where’s Wally and I share a birthday…

These books generate hours of silence and the fact that you have to read the mini-books with a magnifying glass, just adds to the fun.

Let’s Meet the Players:

  • Strong Cardboard
  • Paints
  • Contact Paper
  • A Tiny Picture of Where’s Wally, we had a couple of stickers…

Let’s Play the Game:

  1. Trim your cardboard into the shape of a magnifying glass…
  2. se7en - 051114 - 0003.jpg se7en - 051114 - 0007.jpg

  3. Grab your paints and get painting, we used acrylics because we love the brightness.
  4. se7en - 051114 - 0012.jpg

    se7en - 051114 - 0016.jpg

    se7en - 051114 - 0018.jpg

  5. While your paint is drying… pour over a Where’s Wally Book…
  6. se7en - 051114 - 0022.jpg

  7. Now cut out two sheets of contact paper, one for the front and one for the back of your magnifying glass. Just cut your contact paper around the edges of your magnifying glass and don’t cut out the middles of the contact paper, because that is going to be your magnificent lens.
  8. se7en - 051114 - 0023.jpg

  9. Stick the one piece of contact paper on the back of your magnifying glass… so the sticky side is facing you through the magnifying glass.
  10. se7en - 051114 - 0027.jpg

  11. Then we stuck some tiny Where’s Wally stickers onto our magnifying glass…
  12. se7en - 051114 - 0029.jpg

  13. And finally place the last piece of contact paper onto the front face of your magnifying glass and you are good to go…
  14. se7en - 051114 - 0033.jpg

  15. Happy hunting…
  16. We found Wally on the rocks…
