Cape Town Swim and I Am Water Collaboration: Distance to Depth

Cape Town Swim and I Am Water are collaborating again and I am so excited to be a part of it. The swimmers typically swim great distances and the I Am Water coaches teach about what is under the sea, and so together we have called our collaboration from Distance to Depth.

I Am Water is an organisation that provides local children with an ocean experience, that they otherwise would not have. The classes of children get to experience rocky shores, sandy beaches and tidal pools for the first time. They learn about conservation, stewardship and ultimately leadership. The highlight of their experience is a snorkelling experience where the kids get to explore the incredible kelp forests of False Bay.

As a swim team of swimmers that love the ocean and would love others to love it as much as we do, we are so excited to be raising funds to send a local class of school children on a two day workshop. Not only are we raising funds but we had the most fun…

Our first in a series of Workshops: On Saturday morning, as a team, we worked together with the course coaches to get even more water confident and swimming proficient than they already were. So many happy swimmers in the water!!!
