This week we have been enjoying our book reviews on a stick… There comes a time when the fun of a book can be totally destroyed by another written book review… and I am happy for our kids to be able to enjoy what they are reading in any number ways… Today we took a leading character from a classic story and told the story from their characters perspective. I tell you the world of literature may never be the same again!!!
Here you go in three easy steps:
Step 1: Draw your leading characters and anyone else you may need to “act out your book.”
Step 2: Glue your character onto black card and slide a wooden skewer between the drawing and the card. Once the glue is dry, cut the puppets out carefully…
I noticed that every time I turned my head another puppet appeared on the pile!!!
Step 3: Turn your puppets around, pop a sheet up in a door way, with a light shining behind you and you are ready for a shadow puppet show of note!!!
Of course you can add all sorts of interesting arty factors to your puppets… wool and pipe cleaners work well… and punching holes in them also works as well as cutting out shapes and adding coloured cellophane… lots of fun things to do with these and they are just so very easy!!!

Hay Tammy, you guys will love it… easy and fun… we could have made it more complicated but it is so mush easier to go with the flow and let the kids do their own thing… and all they wanted to do was play with them – no time for tiny details!!!
