St. James Beach Sunrise And the 9th WorldWide Instameet…

Of all the places that you can find us on the internet… instagram is one of our favourites. It is a place to share the little things that make up memories in our everyday life. A couple of months back I posted our visit to The Castle of the Good Hope and the 8th World Wide Instameet…

That’s the other thing about instagrammers, they like to meet up… not just online, but in real life. They are an amazing collection of very diverse artists and it is fascinating to see them at work. Some use props, some don’t, they use tripods, they climb into awkward spots, they jump, they leap and create the most incredible photographs… And all this alongside living their lives. I have to say, it is lovely to see how these folk really get into their work and create their photographs…

Now one, and only one advantage of a wintry morning is that the sun pops over the mountain just after se7en… early but not a crazy time to be up and about. The moon was still high in the sky…

I have to say St, James Beach was ever so slightly busier than usual…

Photographer’s and their kit… everywhere…

Just quietly going about their art and not disturbing the locals…

  1. Hi Marcia, Thank you… you are such an encourager. The sunrises in Cape Town during Autumn are beyond spectacular… Not to mention at a reasonable hour. It is the best time of year for a visit. Hope you have a fantastic week!!!

  2. I’ve been saying I’ll attend one of the Toronto IG meet ups but always so intimated by the pros out there.. guess it’s time to suck it up because I bet I could learn quite a few things!

  3. Hi Satu, Thanks so much for stopping by… I love following #IGTT but I don’t often have a post to add… Our local instagrammers are great at meet-ups, they have quite a few of them and I am always thrilled if there is one that I can go along too!!! Hope you have a great weekend!!!

  4. Hay YashY, Oh join them, join them… our local group are so friendly and fun and fabulous at sharing tips and techniques, I never come away without learning something new. Our guys are so creative and extraordinarily talented… I love meeting up with them, just to watch them set up for a shot!!! Anyway – Hope you have a greta weeekend, nearly there!!!

  5. Thank you so much Reeta, I always hope to have a post… I could blog about Cape Town all day, but I don’t always manage an instagram post. We have fabulous meet-ups in Cape Town, I really enjoy them and observing the art of instagram in action!!! Hope you have the best weekend!!!

  6. Thanks so much for posting this! I love that you captured us all beetling around the beach. I didn’t even know you were there at the time some of these shots were taken, of me included đŸ˜‰

Looking forward to the next one! Love to the family.

  7. Hay Leigh, Thank you so much, I really love @IGTT I could look at travel photographs all day, every day!!! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!!!

  8. Hay Ross, I really enjoyed the meetup, though I don’t think I really spoke to anyone at all!!! I really enjoy watching all the players at work – and yes without my gang, that were all still fast asleep, I am pretty much incognito!!! Love the meetups, thanks so much for organizing them… I always come away inspired to try something new. Hope you are all having a great weekend and not freezing away in the storm.
