This is the week that definitely was not!! My brain left on a freight train… I deleted all the photographs on my camera… you know when you get the little message that says: “Do you really want to delete this?” Well you know me, always positive: “Yes”… And the prompt comes back for the fifth time: “Are you really sure?” And I am thinking what is this about? but “Yes”… Needless to say our Saturday Spot, a brilliant trip down memory lane was deleted. Our craft was deleted, our recipe of the week, was deleted… Life is lean!!! But that’s not all I went on to delete two posts as well… as you finish a post I closed the file instead of hitting publish… “Do you really want to delete this post without saving your changes?” Yes of course I do!!! “poof”… gone… rewrite… This week I am learning to say NO…. NO… NO… Anyhow – take a look at a tree because the next time you consciously look at it it will be full of colored leaves… the year is flying by!!!
It was a busy week with some Ancient Greek Philosophers…
And Ancient Olympic Games…
And spectators…
And this, all clad in ill-fitted towels and receiving blankets headed down to the gate to meet the new neighbors… “Yes we do have eight kids. No it is not a play school. Yes we do homeschool. No we never go away on long trips.” But just one of us was wondering about the very persistent barking dogs, the continuously barking dogs, the as long as my people are out all day barking dogs … that have us crawling into our house looking for ear muffs…
And there was the Remembrance Day Parade…
Otherwise their was dancing…
On the table…
And cuddles…
And hitching of rides…
And sweeping of leaves…
There was arting…
of one kind…
And another…
There was writing in the sky – I wish I could figure out what it says!!! There was great debate!!!
And black cherry chocolate muffins…
And I will tell you a secret about cherries… I love the fresh ones picked from a tree. But in the olden days when the father person was wooing me, back in a time when all chocolates came gift wrapped. Now, I am not moaning because the chocolate still keep on coming, just not gift wrapped so much!!! Anyway, back in the olden days… he left some chocolate coated cherry liqueurs on my desk and I am definitely not a lover of chocolate liqueurs. So I gave them to my sister, but I made her keep all the wrappers because I didn’t want him to think I didn’t enjoy the gift!!! Just a bit of my personal madness… and back to our week…
And Saturday night pizzas…
And wonderful outings…
And spider nests…
And sweet porcupines…
The artwork of the week was on the music stand… I have a potential musician that draws the music she wants to play and then pops it on the stand and plays the recorder for hours and hours… the drama of it is too sweet!!!
Reading behind the couch…
And piles of books and blankets on rainy days…
And do you remember I Wish That I Had Duck Feet, it has to be our book of the week…
And this is what the hoods got up to:
Hood #1: Has figured out survival food… Egg and bacon rolls, yum!
Hood #2: Got on with his sort of maintenance… dismantling for sure!!!
Hood #3: Plotted and planned our week ahead… and then the next one and the next…
Hood #4:There were chores and the annual de-greening of the pool. I know we usually do it in September, but it hasn’t been hot enough – really, the weather has forgotten to heat up!!!
Hood #5: There was baking of one kind and another…
Hood #6: Did some zoobing…
And bug discovery…
Hood #7: Held her own at charades!!! I was going to step in and lend a hand…
But who needs help when you are that far down the pecking order!!!
Hood #8: Discovered chocolate muffins…
And his life is transformed!!!
And that was us – Hope you have a fabulous week!!!
So sorry you deleted your pictures! I know how that feels! But your week looked like so much fun! 🙂
Unfortunately, we had a bunch of sickies in our house and a flood that turned our normally neat house upside down! Argh!
Sorry Sofia, I so hope you are feeling better really really soon!!! Not to mention floods – you poor poor thing… Hope this week is a whole lot better for you all!!!
Thanks! Yes – I’m back into being in a state of gratitude! So much to be thankful for…
I have some gluten free pizza dough in the cupboard that I have been meaning to use but just never get there! Definitely going to try and get it done this weekend 🙂
Oh Sofia – So glad you are back in a state of gratitude!!! Nicely put!!!
Laura, I will tell you a secret, my oldest makes all our bread/pizza dough in the bread machine and my husband does all the toppings on a Saturday night… So Saturday is my night off (well except for cleaning up!!!) and I do look forward to it!!! Have a good day!!!
