So another week of glorious sunshine… I just can’t be sick of it yet!!!
But somebody is sitting up on the couch nights, sprouting teeth!!! Totally not miserable and totally not sleeping.
So it was a bit of a slow week as I staggered along to catch up!!! But our Keyhole garden keeps growing and we have never had corn before, but just look at it!!!
And the spider, whom we shall call Charlotte, for obvious reason seems to have taken up permanent camp in our driveway… and what a lot of wwwwwwwwwwwwwwords to write…
Otherwise there was time for zoobs,
And monster lunch…
And meetings…
And more tie-dyes…
And visitors…
And lego…
And more of the same…
And funny faces…
And painting…
And getting up really early to work alongside the mother person…
And we are almost finished school… last week for the last dragging student…and would you consider this a history report… if the child can blather on forever, AND EVER about tanks and then make one… I am thinking it may well be the job done… my ears can stand NO MORE!!!
And of course there was camping out under beds…
And piles of library books to read under there…
And acrobatics…
And general messing about…
And sleepy hugs…
And lizards…
And games after bedtime… because it was just too hot to sleep…
Everyone pretends to sleep and then Captain Hugs is sent to wake them up…
And squeals of giggles if you are the chosen one!!!
And glitter…
And paper dolls…
And hearty hearts…
And very serious screen play… Notice no bull clip on the spectacles!!!
And the artwork of the week has to be the spider collection that is growing and growing… and there are no longer any safety pins looking for a project in our house.
And the book of the week… was not my first choice… but my little kids love it and have read it and read it and read it!!! The have curled up like cats, the have stretched, they have crept… they have frogged, they have birded and they have loved it!!!
And this is what the Hoods got up to:
Hood #1: Is on a pet rock frenzy…
Soon we will be able to pack a container ship…
In fact if we removed the entire collection from our house… our house could well float away…
Hood #2: Whipped up a Zoob-a-dactyl.
And his usual chemical thing…
Pretty…
Hood #3: Is reading her way through our lives and the library…
And heaps of sewing projects…
Hood #4: Created an animal collage.
What can I say?
Hood #5: Made a mural of ancient Egypt…
That would be him, finding a red snake in the long grass on the banks of the Nile river!!!
And the post-arting complimenting…
And his brother had to make one too…
Catching a hippo for supper… in the Nile… his family is clearly MUCH bigger than I thought!!!
Hood #6: Painted a self portrait…
Which would not be complete without a bug nearby.
Hood #7: Has taken to portraits as well… And I love them!!!
Hood #8: Is totally into making waterfalls… and has pretty much mastered them!!!
When he isn’t hanging around eating pancakes…
And those who are last, will be first, first for every meal at least.
That’s us – Hope you have a totally awesome week!!!
Oh, how I love your weeks that were!! They are always so full full full! I often go back and read them again (even after I’ve just read them!) to soak up all the ideas and inspiration. Thank you so much for writing them 🙂
And thank you for your comment the other day—I loved hearing from you! I love that your kids do so much writing, and so much reading and so very much Arting—I know we’d all get along “In Real Life” very well!
HAy Helena… Glad you enjoy our wild weeks so much!!! Well done on your great first day back at school, ours are always somewhat disastrous and end up being a major scramble of over eager kids and a mother who isn’t quite at the ready and by the end of the day expectations have usually been tempered down somewhat by reality!!! By the second week we usually rock… but first days are pretty terrifying!!! Have a fun week!!!
AAh, swimming! What a thought, and good memories! And well done for finishing up with school! And a week full of creativity and fun – you have grown a wonderful life for your family, and we love you!
Hay Jacki… How are you!!! Love hearing from you all!!! Tonight we had great drops of heavy rain… Blessed relief, even though it is so hot the rain was dry before it hit the ground!!! And now it is over… I have a little hood that is missing you all so badly!!! I will have to get her letter writing!!! Hope you find a new discovery this weekend!!! Lots of love from all of us!!!
