Life your Way … The Ultimate Blog Swap…

Today I’m participating in the Ultimate Blog Swap. You’ll find me posting over at Poots and Pans about Se7en Tips to Help Your Kids Survive Allergies in a Non-Allergic World….

In a home where allergies are particularly rampant, especially nut allergies, we have battled not so much with the allergy but with how other folk outside of our family cope with our allergies… Offering our children things they shouldn’t have because it is just a little or telling them that certain food is fine when they really aren’t. Anyway I wrote about how we have tried to equip our kids and so that they are free to eat out with friends and survive birthday parties without us being vigilant watchdogs on their behalf. Head over to Poots and Pans to see our allergy post… and Life Your Way to see all the participants.

  1. Thank you SOOOO much for posting this. It is a wonderful lesson in how to handle this issue. I work with children all day and have a number that have various allergies, not to mention my own children having various environment issues too (testing the 3 one next week – none of mine are allergic to the same things). With your permission I would like to share this with my staff so they get a “parents” view of what they go through on a daily basis with a child with special health concerns and the to the point and graceful way you handle the issues. I think it will help them understand and adjust the questions they ask new parents when they enroll their child with us.

  2. Hi 3GoatMom… So glad you found this post useful. It turned out to be so much longer than I intended, obviously I had a lot to say!!! You are most welcome to share especially if it will help just a couple more kids cope with their allergy in a very un-allergy orientated world… All the very best and thanks so much for stopping by.

  3. Thanks as always, Se7en! My 3-year-old son is allergic to peanuts and a couple of other legumes. I really appreciated your insights.
