Honestly since our last Week that Was post I can say everything has happened!!!

Hood #7 has mastered the dive and I caught her mid-flight!!! She wasn’t sure she could swim, but she knew she could dive… well she can do both and I’m thrilled!!!

Someone else thinks they can do all these things too!!!

We even had a rainy day…

Some of us could not believe their eyes… and I held my breathe and thought – I am so not a winter person… but summer returned!!!

There was the cycle race…

And trips through colorful Cape Town…

And a peak at the Kontiki weekend…

And a walk in Kalk Bay…

The beach has been really blustery…

So heaps of swimming at home…

And my children leading me up stairs!!!

Because the road isn’t steep enough!!!

More bright summer colors…

As we head up the

Following little legs…

And rations…

And very quickly there were teams at the top of the mountain and war had been declared!!!

And a conquering team…

And natural factual artifacts collected…

And home again…

And post hiking bath-time…

Supper selection…

Picnics…

Plenty of picnics…

And picnics with friends…

A collection of girls and their father person…

And hours of playing…

And royal duplo…

And minions…

And it wouldn’t be summer without UNO!!!

Seriously…

And there is a new player on the team…

And plenty of arting…

I love it when our sink looks like this…

And piles of artwork offerings on beside my keyboard… as well as very important documentation…

Our art work of the week has to be this classy bag:

And books…

And yet another trip to the library – love it!!!

Our book of the week has to be:

We got this from the library, but we need to own it… It is packed with family history…PACKED!!! I am convinced that my father had it as a child… it is packed with funny expressions, limericks and rhymes. The sort of sayings that my father has been saying all my life and other folks look at you like they have never heard it before… It was such a fun read, we all totally loved it!!!
And this is what the hoods got up to:
Hood #1: Is a strict adherent to the law… You may not go out of sight on a hike.

And Lego of course!!!

Hood #2: An ipad parrot…

And books…

Hood #3: It is possible to read through an entire summer…

Not just to herself…

Hood #4: Loving the great outdoors…

Hood #5: Has been zoobing…

Hood #6: Bug season has finally arrived and my bug lover is loving it!!!

Hood #7: Has taken over her oldest brother as chief fort maker… anywhere and everywhere… and I am loving it!!!

Hood #8: And what can I say… we live with a wild beast, lurking in the vynbos!!!

A well cuddled wild beast!!!

Hope you all have a fabulous week!!!
Golly your kids have such RICH and WONDERFUL experiences! They are sure blessed to have you as a mama… do you ever miss a shot???? YOU are such a great memory picture taker!
Oh Katherine Marie!!! I miss so many shots!!! I made a point this summer of making memories and not photographs – gasp!!! So there are days where I just play and read and dash about and other days when I am armed for snapping!!! I hope you are all having fun times in the spring shine!!! Lots of love!!!
