Well on Saturday we spent the day in the depths of chocolate… First our Celebrity Chef made A Chocolate Brownie Cake…
And while the cake was baking we started working on Truffles…
Let’s Meet The Players:
- 90 g (3.17 ounces) Dark Chocolate
- 90 g (3.17 ounces) Milk Chocolate
- 50 g (1.76 ounces) Unsalted Butter
- 100 – 120 ml (4.06 fluid ounces) Cream
- Cocoa for Dunking
Let’s Play The Game:
Step 1: Measure the chocolate.
Step 2: Add the cream.
Step 3: Melt them together.
Step 4: Stir it through, to form your ganache (heaven!).
Step 5: The Celebrity Chef thought the ganache needed cinnamon and a dash of vanilla syrup.
Take a break while the ganache stiffens in the fridge… Not to mention some folk were looking a little like they had over-tasted somewhat…
They needed a break. So Se7en went for a quick stomp up the mountain to recover themselves… And got caught in the torrenting rain!!!
And had to dash home for – you guessed it: Hot Chocolate!!!
Step 6: Back to the truffles. Scoop out a spoonful of ganache and roll it into a ball.
Step 7: Then drop your truffle in cocoa and roll it around. Pop it on a tray and start the next one!!!
And yummy as we are we can not make these as gifts for Christmas… firstly there is this:
Give me five!!!
Not to mention for every se7en made, one landed on the tray and it may take a fair while to build up a supply for gifting.
No, nice idea but definitely not for gifting!!!
Time to clean up and the chocolate frenzy was over, well apart from a couple of chocolate leaves.

I LOVE to eat truffles, but it has never crossed my mind to let the kids help. You are a brave woman.

Hi M, And there I was thinking everyone made truffles with their kids!!! Now that is funny!!! If I were to make these myself I would never get past the ganache – yummm, and forget about little extras like cinnamon and vanilla syrup… For me pure chocolate and cream and gone!!! Hope you have a great weekend!!!

Hi S, One mess or eight messes it’s all just a mess… I localize the mess – no-one wants to move away from the chocolate anyway, and the cleaning up afterwards is well worth the memory!!! Hope you have a great weekend…
