I am so determined to get get our nature notebooks going this year, and I am desperate to have a weekly wander in the great outdoors!!! Last week was a rainy one and we really needed to get outdoors and stretch our legs more than ever. We found a spot that was used for X-country practice and what a good spot that was!!! Initially there were paths untouched and places unexplored…
But that didn’t last long…
Before we new it we were trailing…
Up hill…
And up a little more…
And down dale…
And exploring…
And a wee bit of wandering off…
And retrieval…
And pure exuberance…
And we found so many treasures…
But we were watched…
And they were friendly…
And fast…
We settled down to draw…
And watch right back…
And draw…
And watch…
And draw…
And watch…
And after such a show we couldn’t resist…
walking and leaping…
And hours of it…
And the squirrels played tricks on someone…
Who really looked for them…
And then discovered them but they wouldn’t come down and chat…
Humph…
So we were done…
And went home for tea… and to finish our drawings…
And here’s the gallery:
We have blogged about walking in Constantia Valley before, but there are so many different routes that even if we walked there every week I don’t think we would cover it!!!
I love your NATURE NOTEBOOKS. I’d like to start those this summer! 🙂
All lovey art, but especially love the one with all the family sitting on the log! Was that hood #5 art?
Hay KM, YOu must do nature notebooks with your kids!!! We have such fun – they are really the highlight of the week!!! And I know your kids would do some really fun artiness inside of them!!! Lots of love from all of us!!!
Hay Aunty Muffin!!! The lone artist, Hood #4, sat drawing the rest of us – who were all sitting on the log!!! I love that I am there holding a camera no less!!! Have a great weekend!!!
Wow really impressing, we must do the same with my kids! May seems to be perfect time to do it 🙂
