Well I was planning to post about all the wonderful things to do in Cape Town over the Winter Break, so many things to do… I won’t tell my scholars that the whole world is on holiday, while they work away (a small price to pay for months of summer off school).

Anyway, I was led astray on wet Saturday, with an amble through the streets of Kalk Bay.

And a little while back I mentioned it was about time we visited Tribeca again… and then we saw Donna Hay make Caesar salads on Master Chef and I knew we would have to make a visit to Tribeca!!!

Needless to say we made a stop… Now this is as close as I am going to get to an afternoon in New York, I’ll take it…

If only for the coffee…

And the coffee…

Really – the coffee!!!

This is not a fast food venue, you will wait… Somehow we always have SO much to talk about. And it is well worth the wait, trust me on this!!!

Some of us got a little impatient…

But a beverage quickly solved that problem…

As I walked past the kitchen I noticed what could only be our plates at the ready…

Stopped to snap them and was invited in to see the process…

Meet the chip man…

Examine the dishes, which look pretty much like home!!!

Potential bread…

That would be my caesar salad in the making… yum!!!

Plating up…

And a super friendly flame thrower…

How often do you get to meet a flame thrower!!!

And there goes our food off to the table…

Where it was totally enjoyed!!!

We tried a bit of everything…

And I will not show you the cakes!!! Well just a peep…

And that was us… a lazy trip to New York, what a good way to while a way Saturday lunch!!!
