Sometimes you are just looking for an amble and Groot Constantia is a great place for that…
A wine farm in the heart of Constantia… you can wander through the vineyards…
With views far and wide…
And explore the wonderful old buildings…
There are plenty to choose from…
You can look in the reflecting pool…
Which was gathering leaves…
And say hi to the lone duck…
You can wander down the drive and know that folk have been doing the same for hundreds of years. And well imagine the horses and carriages…
Past the mossy wall…
Right down to the gate…
There is the most wonderful tree…
That you can climb right inside…
Where you can peep at the world…
It is the sort of place where you want to photograph each window and door…
Even the ones in the sky…
See if anyone is home…
And you can be sure there will be something interesting behind a gate!!!
And it is well worth peeping into every nook and cranny…
Because you will find treasures…
And who can resist an old wall…
From any angle…
Of course there are stairs…
But a grassy slope is so much more fun…
Yup, someone small needed help…
And distracted by a squirrel…
The sort of place where you can imagine folk have been sitting for years and years…
Just for a quick chat…
About this and that…
And besides the vineyards…
Glorious gardens…
There were even paths we didn’t get to wander,
Which means we will just have to visit and go exploring again another time…
Hope you are having a fun weekend…
