Well let me just say that this past weekend… almost all Capetonians descended on the Good Food and Wine Show…… And it was fabulous. The vibe, the action… the tasting. Food is definitely a service industry and the stall holders went way out of their way to serve and demonstrate their products to us!!! Just an insanely noisy vibey spot, as a friend said: A tidal wave of people and cooking and food!!! I really wish I could capture the noise!!!

There was wine tasting…

And oysters…

And parties galore…

Delicious delights…

I’m not kidding…

Absolutely everything to love at the Lindt stand…

I loved all the flavors and honestly they could not hand out freebies fast enough!!!

Then have you met the wonderful toffees of Sweet Temptations…

And the House of Cassis, yes so good that we have blogged about them before.

And their famous macaroons…

Of course there was the irresistible SMEG…

So many flavors to try:
Organic chocolates…

sweet…

And savory…

Sauces…

And seafood…

And I totally loved the FalkSalt… Seriously Loved!!! Salt crystal flakes packed with flavor: chili, rosemary, garlic, citron… I can go on!!! Stunning!!!

And finally, finally… finally met up with The Creamery…

And was it worth the visit: Locally grown and handmade ice-cream… You have to believe it was worth it!!!

There was grow your own…

By the crate…

And there was cook your own…

By the class…

And there was Le Creuset … there was!!!

And that was about the happiest store of all… all those sweet kettles…

And happy colors…

And would you look at this: A judge from Masterchef SA. Peter Goffe-Wood, doing his chef thing!!! And I got his signature for our junior celebrity chef!!!

And behind every master chef judge in action there is a whole team of folk: washing, cleaning, stacking… working!!!

And nearly done:

And a stacked deli…

And of course our friend… Illy coffee!!!

Cute kiddy products, I know my kids would have loved…

And the snappy chef, a hot plate that could only add an extra dimension to our kitchen since our cranky old oven only has one working hot plate at the best of times!!!

And finally, oh joy and happiness to bump into our friend the chef… who was working at the Wizbake stand – all sorts of baking ideas to see… And wonderful to see a familiar face amidst the crowds.

And a meal of chorizo sausage bread to munch on, on the way home…

Loads of fun!!! Definitely a show to keep in your diary for next year…
