While this weekend was a quiet weekend, last weekend was not!!! Last Saturday we spent the entire morning playing at The Cape Town Science Centre. Who wouldn’t want to spend hours playing in a totally hands-on scientific haven. We knew from past experiences that this would not be a quick visit… This is the kind of place you can take your kids to play and play and play. Eight kids, of different ages, totally happy and busy for hours.
Of course there were mirrors…
Our champion mind bender…
Totally cool and relaxed…
Took on his siblings… and won!!!
And wooshing…
Seriously, woosh…
Lots to look at…
And observations…
And listen too…
Really listen…
Puzzling Puzzles…
And square wheels…
And all things twistable…
A mini-world…
The whole wide world…
And a spot to create your own world…
And wonder at the world…
Really wonder!!!
And illusions…
And have a rest on a bed of nails…
And talking of pins…
How handy is that…
And time for a little hide and seek…
And you might think the great escape…
But no, he was overjoyed to be inside…
There was music making…
And wild harping…
And something a little more genteel…
Plenty of games to play…
And giant chess…
And still after all the times we have visited the Science Centre the favourite spot…
Turns out our kids just can’t get enough construction!!!
There is lots to love about The Cape Town Science Centre… lots of busy activities and programs going on while you are there… inviting your kids to join in and participate. Lots of space and other children for your kids to play and interact with. The focus is on fun, and making all things scientific interesting for your children to play with. There are lots of folk out on the floor to help and engage the children with the exhibits. A coffee shop from where you can see your kids playing. Our kids would rank this spot high on their list of “must-see” outings in Cape Town!!!
Wishing you all a fabulous week!!!
Oh, what FUN!:) Have a nice week!
Fun indeed Katja, Hope you have a brilliant week as well!!!
Great post and such fun! That reminds me I must take my kids we have not been to the new one yet!!!!
Hay Sam… THe new venue is great, easy parking right at the door and coffee where you can watch the kids play and huge cool open warehouse!!! It was a great time and well worth the visit!!! Have a great day!!!
With all your fantastic and vivid pictures I feel like I was on this day trip with you all!!!! We don’t have a science center here…. But when I lived in Seattle we had one and it was my very favorite place to take kiddos!!!!! (it was also a wonderful place to take a date too… Pre marriage….Hehehehe) does your science center have an IMAX type mega theatre too? Those are extraordinary for educational documentaries. xoxoxoxxoo
Hay Katherine Marie!!! Your kids would love the Science Centre – very relaxed play space full of interesting goodies to play with!!! Cape Town used to have an Imax Theatre… but years and years ago – I haven’t even thought about it since we had kids… must see if there is still one!!! Hope you all have a special week!!!
