I am reclaiming our weekends… busy-ness begone… books, ambles and pottering are in vogue around here… This weekend’s amble took us to the Sea Point Pavillion for an amble. This has to be Cape Town’s premier spot for combining ambling and people watching. Yes, there are people doing furious amounts of exercise… those are the ones that you watch… and then their are others that are ambling…

This is an easy walk, with soft-serve ice-creams at one end and mini-golf or Putt-Putt at the other end… And in between heaps to look at…

Squashed between the ocean and high rise apartment weekends…

Ships and shipping…

Beaches on the one side…

Wide oceans…

And rocky beaches…

And gull spotting…

You can jump in anywhere along the way and walk the full length… or just as far as the nearest bench…

Great rolling lawns, filled with folk playing – soccer…

And gyms for energetic types and climbing frames for folk with energetic kids…

Gnarly old trees…

Spots to stop for tea…

And of course we spotted our friends: the City SightSeeing Red Bus…

And along with the most intriguing people to watch – walking up and down the Promenade…

You can watch para-gliders that have leapt off Signal Hill…

And float down to the wide open lawns…

To land…

An easy walk… a fun amble and a great way to see who’s who in Cape Town…
absolutely gorgeous!!!!
Hay Katherine Marie, it is a fabulous place for an amble… fairly quiet on a cold winter amble, but in summer it can be fabulously busy!!! Hope you are all enjoying your summertime!!!
