Winter Holidays are upon us and I am going to be blogging about things to do with your kids in and around Cape Town. Our big kids have all been busy on courses and volunteering, and it has been great to spend time with just our three youngest for the past week. Our holiday fun started with an outing to The Little Mermaid Musical Premier Show at Canal Walk.

The Little Mermaid Musical at Canal Walk

When the tickets have been stuck on the fridge for a while and the lights go down… the excitement is palpable…

And then the musical began. A very rowdy young audience was struck silent in wonder…

What a cast and what a show… a glamorous musical, with beautiful set design… you are literally taken under the sea, wonderful costumes and the most incredible puppetry. Voices telling us the story, a magical mermaid and a villainous sea witch. An underwater King and a handsome Prince…

If you have a child who loves the ocean, or someone with a passion for mermaids then this is pure magic. The story was sweet, the music was appealing and did I mention the puppets… they really were superb. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was all just fabulous and not so long that small children would get restless. Honestly, it was lovely and an evening well spent.
