I started a new thing last week, blogging just two books a day, somehow in the season that we are in, short and sweet is the way to go… One week of blogging and I had created a little book stack of some of our recent reads…

You can find reviews of all these books by scrolling back through our recent posts…

The Final Book in our Book Stack from Jonathan Ball Publishers
Fantastic Beasts by JK Rowling and Illustrated by Olivia Gill.

Fantastic Beasts by JK Rowling is an essential addition to any Harry Potter collector. It is actually a work of art and the illustrator, Olivia Gill, absolutely makes and creates this book. We have reviewed the hardback version of this book before and this is the soft cover version. I was very happy to receive this version of the book because, our first one, the hardback has been read and loved so very completely… it has been carried on hikes, it has slept under several pillows, it has been camping… it has been the basis of many a fact card as my kids have made their own dragon encyclopaedias.

The book is FANTASTIC for so many reasons. We are powering our way through the Harry Potter series on audible right now. This book is an alphabetical encyclopaedia of all, and I mean every single kind, of the magical animals that you find in the Harry Potter series… and then some more!!!

For dragon lovers, it is essential reading… and I mean essential. The illustrations are incredible, and short snippety facts make it actual factual reading. The illustrations by Olivia Lomenech Gill are just incredible… full of details. It feels like you are reading through an Encyclopaedia of genuine wildlife. Absolutely love this book… a family favourite!!! And a side note, right now, during the lockdown, Harry Potter is free to listen to on audible, just follow this link.
