So where do you go and what do you when you haven’t had a car forever and you have one on Christmas Day… Well we avoided the beach traffic, and took our kids to the fabulous GreenPoint Park on the far side of town. Of course, it is one of the best places that Cape town has to offer!!! Heaps of open spaces to play and wonderful places to explore. And it is all free!!! We have shown you GreenPoint Park before but that was just the half of it!!!

We had to decide where to go…

And what to do…

We began by figuring out the time…

Finding the date…

And spotting the shadows..

And enlisting “the father person…”

Then we got on with a workout of note… because one must!!!

And on to the best playground in Cape town, by miles!!! I tell you if South Africa poured money into parks like these we would have a better country – a place where everybody can head out and picnic and play together in the great outdoors and did I mention it is free. So anybody can take a break from the rat race and come in and have a high quality play session!!!

Swings and things…

Music making…

The higher you swing the more they ring…

Hanging out…

And swirling…

Slides…

Clambering…

And catching…

Nets…

And…

And bouncing…

And bridges…

And endless swings…

And climbing walls…

And even walking the tightrope…

And then there is spinning…

And serious spinning…

Round and round and round…

Past the teeny tiny playground just for tiny tots…

The tots park is enclosed so no escapees…

All this works up a thirst…

Then past the fish,

The flowers,

The stadium,

And home again…

Home again…

I tell you a couple of hours in the great outdoors like this and your kids will get home ready to collapse into bed!!! Would we spend Christmas Day in Green Point Park again – for sure!!!
