This Friday past we went for an amble through the vynbos at Cape Point, we were armed with journals and jersey’s because even though the calendar says it is Spring and the days have been warmer…

Our walk was cold and wet, with occasional glimmers of sunshine…

Vynbos, is our local indigenous vegetation… and from a distance it looks like this…

And then you can get a little closer… and be amazed at the variety and incredible design of these plants…

And Hood #1 looked even closer and took some fabulous photographs…

And meet some Cape Snow… these flowers grow in great fields and look like papery snow…

We were so excited to see entire areas just covered in tiny sundews…

Who can resist walking through a Game Park looking for treasures… and our fab ranger teaching us amazing facts all the way…

This was the best spot for all my kids, who can resist stepping stones…

And on to a recent burn sight…

And from a distance it looks really barren… bit the closer you get the more amazed you will be…

We stopped for lunch and the sun came out…

And then we went looking for wildlife… Rescuing these teeny tiny little guys off the road…

It was definitely… a great day out for tortoises…

The big ones and they were really big are so speedy that you would not believe it…

And look what we found…

We spent ages watching this little gathering…

It was a great day out for us as well…

Some of those photos are absolutely stunning!
Gorgeous!! Wish we could come amble with you!
