On we go with our Thirteen Peak Journey… I have said it before and I am going to say it again… the hardest part of this adventure was not the Peaks, they were all exciting and different and fun… it is the distance in between the peaks that has to be covered, that was really hard for us.

We finished our previous hike by walking across Hout Bay from Little Lion’s Head. We hoped to walk all the way across Hout Bay and up Chapman’s Peak Drive at the end of our last hike. We were hoping to stop at the Vida for sweet rewards along the way, only to discover that the Vida was gone. That was the end for us, we called it a day. We decided that we could do a mid-week run later, and do one of Cape Town’s most spectacular 10km runs and cover the distance when we all had fresh legs and loads of enthusiasm. I have fond memories of this run and I was all for it!!!

For 13 Peaks you need to head up the road to close to the top of Chapman’s Peak, before you head back onto the trails.

We set out on a beautiful midweek evening.

Every corner revealed more beautiful scenes…

Nearly there…

Totally, totally worth it…

And the glorious run back down the road and back into Hout Bay…

Golden hour for sure…

And an owl serenading us as we headed back the way we had come.

And our trusty pup enjoyed it too…
