The Celebrity Chef Makes Chocolate Mousse in Se7en Steps…

The Celebrity Chef is back in action and spent time with his friend Peter the Pastry Chef again this weekend and produced a chocolate mousse that sent the rest of his family straight to heaven!!!

Let’s meet the players: (This serves many… to capacity!)

For the Mousse:

  • 500g chocolate good quality chocolate
  • 240g butter
  • 8 eggs
  • 280 g castor sugar
  • 2 packets of cream
  • 1 packet of marie biscuits

For the caramel banana topping:

  • bananas
  • castor sugar
  • butter

Let’s Play Game:

Step 1: Let’s get started with the chocolate. Have you ever seen such a huge chunk of chocolate.

Chop it up. Smash it up. Crunch it up.

You might need to try some chocolate at this stage – you know just try it!

Pop it in a bowl with the butter and then microwave it for 30 seconds… and then 30 seconds more.

And gently stir it through – yummy!

Step 2: Grab your serving bowl and smoosh the whole bag of Marie biscuits into it: smoosh, smoosh, smoosh.

Until it’s all good and crumbly.

Step 3: Caramelizing bananas – yum, yum, yum. Chop up the bananas – chop, chop, chop…

Pop them in the pan with the sugar and butter.

Heat them gently.

Step 4: Separate the eggs – a bit of a learning curve here.

Beat the yolks together with the sugar.

Beat the whites.

Beat the cream.

Beat, beat, beat.

Step 5: Fold it all together. Fold, fold, fold.

And pop it in your serving bowl.

Pop the bowl in the fridge and help any patient brothers lick the bowl.

Step 6: Head to the beach for a swim and a break from the kitchen.

Step 7: Get yourself home, share it out and enjoy it!

    Oh! Can he come cook at my house??? And is that your kitchen featured in the second to last shot? Because I totally love it.

    No he can’t come and cook at your house we are definitely keeping this one! Actually, truth be told we are keeping all of them!!! And yes that is indeed our kitchen and I will “Saturday Spot It” for you sometime!
