The Celebrity Chef is back in action and spent time with his friend Peter the Pastry Chef again this weekend and produced a chocolate mousse that sent the rest of his family straight to heaven!!!
Let’s meet the players: (This serves many… to capacity!)
For the Mousse:
- 500g chocolate good quality chocolate
- 240g butter
- 8 eggs
- 280 g castor sugar
- 2 packets of cream
- 1 packet of marie biscuits
For the caramel banana topping:
- bananas
- castor sugar
- butter
Let’s Play Game:
Step 1: Let’s get started with the chocolate. Have you ever seen such a huge chunk of chocolate.
Chop it up. Smash it up. Crunch it up.
You might need to try some chocolate at this stage – you know just try it!
Pop it in a bowl with the butter and then microwave it for 30 seconds… and then 30 seconds more.
And gently stir it through – yummy!
Step 2: Grab your serving bowl and smoosh the whole bag of Marie biscuits into it: smoosh, smoosh, smoosh.
Until it’s all good and crumbly.
Step 3: Caramelizing bananas – yum, yum, yum. Chop up the bananas – chop, chop, chop…
Pop them in the pan with the sugar and butter.
Heat them gently.
Step 4: Separate the eggs – a bit of a learning curve here.
Beat the yolks together with the sugar.
Beat the whites.
Beat the cream.
Beat, beat, beat.
Step 5: Fold it all together. Fold, fold, fold.
And pop it in your serving bowl.
Pop the bowl in the fridge and help any patient brothers lick the bowl.
Step 6: Head to the beach for a swim and a break from the kitchen.
Step 7: Get yourself home, share it out and enjoy it!
Hmmmm, that was good. Thanks Peter and Klari for a great visit and all the chocolate!!!
