Hood #2 is a bird watcher…
He loves spotting new birds, he loves bird lists, he loves bird books, he loves bird hides…
Every couple of weeks he gathers his bird bag and he heads out to a local bird watching spot….
This week he took his sister and they headed for the wetlands at Strandfontein, the Waste Water Works at Zeekoevlei…
And did they see birds!!!
Big birds and little birds…
Water birds and grassy birds…
Feathers…
And foot prints…
Herons…
And Pelicans…
But my favorite was the flapping flamingoes…
But wait there is more:
Okay I will stop already… follow the link for directions and a bird list and other useful info… from the Cape Bird Club.
This is really lovely! Reminds me of our bird sightings while on holiday in SA, albeit in totally different parts of the country (St Lucia and some of the game reserves). Thanks for sharing!
oh my! That pelican is amazing! What a wonderful place to be a birder.
Hi Sherrin, So good to hear from you again!!! Glad we could bring back some memories for you!!! Thanks for commenting, hope you have a great day!!!
Hi Katy… I love when you visit our blog!!! This is indeed a great place for any birder and our local wetlands are packed with birds and so very rewarding for our young birdwatcher… You should come over and visit before you head home – just a little off your route, but I think you guys would love it!!!
Oh, sunshine.
Oh, spring. spring, spring, spring, I want spring. And summer. 🙂
Oh Stephanie… I wish I could package some up and send you a day of sunshine – really!!! I have a kiddo, hood #6, who keeps asking when it is our turn to have snow – never my sweet child!!! Never!!! My spring burst forth soon for you guys!!!
