So this is the year that I promised to take outings more seriously, and be a bit more adventurous than just going around the corner. So when Amy from SABC3’s breakfast show, Expresso, contacted us and asked if we would like to visit their Television Set, I responded sure… And into the traffic we launched!!!

Heaps of morning traffic!!!

As we drove to the far side of town…

Excitement was palpable and no one was phased by the car time!!!

And another tall, tall building…

And an indoor waterfall…

And a chance to try out the Breakfast Show’s Studio… “Good Morning South Africa!!!”

And the weather today will be…

“Partly cloudy and hot.”

A little bit of a serenade…

And some news readers…

And a very short news reader!!!

And a test of the kitchen, a chef has to do what a chef has to do!!!

There was an attempted gathering of the troops…

And one escapee…

There were races on the roof…

And some rest and recovery…

Well actually not much chance of a rest!!!

And some chatting in the outdoor nook…

And a trial in the exercise area…

And the find of the day:

Just look at that ball!!!

And a walk along the waterfront to get over the excitement…

And then we followed the tour bus into the city center…

If you have to pass through town then you really should stop at Charly’s for a treat!!!

And an ooo and an aaa at the cakes…

And delight at those chandeliers… (that’s the one that inspired my daughter!!!)

How cute are they!!!

And a picking and choosing…

And one of us needed this:

Because lets face it one of us had got eight kids up and across town really early!!! Take a look again!!!

Ready, Steady, Munch…

Gone, yum!!!

Thanks Charly’s Bakery for another great feast!!! Thanks Amy for a wonderful tour of your early morning world!!!
Whoa, now that’s a seriously neat outing! But I had to comment on your Hood #3 reading Trixie Belden, who was my passion for several childhood years. I’m glad to see they’re still printing them.
Hay Vicki!!! How good is it to hear from you!!! It was indeed very fun to visit a real live Television Studio… fun, fun, fun !!! We got a box set of Trixie Beldon’s on a Sonlight Christmas Sale a while back – so they are definitely out there!!! Hope you have a fun week!!!
Good for you to be more adventurous! What a wonderfully, wonderfully fun outing!!!! Thank you for sharing! 🙂
What a great day! I love the shots of your kids in all sorts of cools spots, especially that roof top. And what a delicious spot to stop for snack!
P.S. Keep yours eyes open for an e-mail from me.
Hi April, It was a lot of fun, to see how it all works. And the folks there were amazingly friendly and fun and upbeat… and withstood my troop of kids really well!!! Hope you are having a fun fun week!!!
Hi Lucia, Lovely to hear from you!!! How was that rooftop… I think our first trip ever to the Penthouse!!! Very fun!!! And as for Charly’s – well can’t be beat!!! Hope you are having a fun week!!!
What a cool glimpse behind the scenes! Wish we could have joined you. That’s the downside of being on the other side of the world, I suppose.
Oh Gretchen from Lifenut, How great you are!!! I think the only reader that has ever said they would like to cross the world, even for a moment!!! Your guys would have loved it!!! Can you imagine how many heads we would turn if we went for a visit to the television set together!!! Sending a couple of hugs to your little guys on the far side of the world!!!
What a WONDERFUL DAY! I can just imagine the excitement. :):)
Wow! You were all so fortunate to visit a TV set! Did you get your children to watch the show on TV after that just for fun?!
Hi KM… I would so love to post a craft, I know you love them I am just not getting there!!! Well actually I am not getting anywhere!!! Except maybe to a TV studio… a very very exciting day indeed!!! … INDEED!!! Hope you are having a fun week!!!
Oh S… I have to confess the breakfast show is from 5:30 till 7:30 in the morning… and NOT one of us is awake then!!! NOT ONE!!! So no we have not watched the show!!! I think I should tape so that they can see the set “From the other side”… Why didn’t I think of that already, its a great idea!!! Have a fun week!!!
Congratulations on your fun outing!
I SO love the pics of your kids interacting with one another.
PS are you ever in any pics? 🙂

Luckily our blog isn’t really about me as I hate my photo being taken!!! Very occasionally I appear in our blog, the last picture of me was in this post… and I only agree ot photographs so that my kids will one day have something to remember me by!!! Seriously!!! I hope you guys have a fun fun weekend!!!
